Wat doet IronX met blank aluminium en plakloodjes?

not exactly true!, if you will try to wash well that same screw that you soaked 3 hours in ironx and wipe it off with some agitating, the zinc color will come back to life, the ironx didnt dissolve the zinc you showing here, the zinc protection is still there , its just change the top color to black.
same thing about zinc painted calipers, wheels balance weights and others, any color changing can be return back by water and some polish agitation.

and ofcourse Mr. Will, if you dont like ironx you are always welcome to use acid base cleaners with lots of elbow grease power to clean wheels.

Is de laatste keer dat ik reageer op dit onderwerp omdat ik denk dat hier al genoeg aandacht aan is gegeven. Doe het in nederlands omdat engels schrijven me niet zo goed ligt.
Mijn verhaal klopt als een bus en niet anders (sorry). Ik heb zelf een galvanisch bedrijf dat gespecialiceerd is in het elektrolytisch verzinken en weet dus waar ik over praat.
De zwarte kleur kunt je inderdaad wel wegpoetsen omdat de zinklaag niet helemaal is opgelost maar de passiveerlaag ben je kwijt (en een gedeelte van je zinklaag). Eenmaal mooi opgepoest zal de schroef in no time weer lelijk en dof worden.
Nogmaals, ik blijf het product ondanks mijn commentaar wel gebruiken, en wil het ook helemaal afbreken, maar ik vind wel dat mensen mogen weten wat er met dit middel bij overmatig gebruik kan gebeuren. Dit geldt trouwens niet alleen voor iron-x (wat nog mild is) maar ook voor vele velgenreinigers.

Bedankt Martin voor jou onderzoek. Als je metaalsoort zwart wordt dan weet je gewoon dat het niet in de haak is, ook al kun je het dan op polishen zoals Avi zegt.

Verkleuren is stoppen imho en als het wel goed gaat dan door gaan.

@avi, this topic is not about the fact that we don't like Iron.X but just to find out what effect Iron.X has on untreated metals. In my opinion the product is fine but when the unpainted metal surfaces react with Iron.X then you should stop to prevent further risk of damaging the surface.
