In our relationship with our customers, we look for solutions that are appropriate to the customer’s circumstances. We expect similar cooperation from our suppliers and distributors, with open communication, joint development, equality, and trust. When a partnership no longer complies with these values, we owe it to ourselves and our other business relations to terminate it without further ado.

Explanation
Carclean.com is ending its collaboration with CarPro Trading Ltd (referred to hereinafter as C.Pro) with immediate effect. The relationship has deteriorated to such an extent that healthy collaboration is no longer possible for Carclean.com. All the products now in stock will be sold off and after that will no longer feature in the Carclean.com assortment. The account below explains how Carclean.com arrived at this decision.

History
In August 2010, Carclean.com entered into a collaborative relationship with C.Pro. Carclean.com was to exclusively distribute the products A.Quartz and Iron Cut on the Dutch market. In October 2010, C.Pro changed the A.Quartz brand to C.Quartz and switched production to another factory after a dispute arose between C.Pro and the A.Quartz factory concerning the use of the formulas and brand names. This new factory supplied and labelled C.Pro’s products until July 2013. C.Pro marketed this factory’s products under its own labels, including C.Quartz and Iron.X: the products that are currently most familiar.

Nanolex and the response from C.Pro
In May this year, Carclean.com decided to include Nanolex in its assortment. In response, C.Pro decided to end Carclean.com’s exclusive status. Although Carclean.com did not agree with this and expressed its objections, Carclean.com decided to continue sales and distribution without exclusive status. Carclean.com’s strength lies in supplying a variety of brands and it does not wish to change this.

Supplying without the knowledge of Carclean.com
Although Carclean.com was still responsible for distributing the C.Pro products and setting up and maintaining the C.Quartz Finest Detailer network, it turned out that C.Pro was also supplying directly to one of Carclean.com’s business Finest customers without informing Carclean.com.

New version of Finest, end of the distribution of C.Quartz Finest
In July this year, a new version of Finest was announced; this was also available immediately. Carclean.com, in its function of distributor, was not notified in advance of these developments and was therefore unable to amend its stock planning accordingly.

Because Carclean.com, due to C.Pro’s direct delivery to the business Finest customer of Carclean.com, had surplus stock, and because a new version was immediately available, Carclean.com decided to give end users the unique opportunity to purchase C.Quartz Finest.

In response to this, Carclean.com received a warning from C.Pro and lost its distribution rights to C.Quartz Finest. C.Pro also told Carclean.com that too little Finest was being sold and that Carclean.com was not doing enough to promote Finest to dealers.

The Dutch market has a very limited number of professional detailers; only a small number of companies can present certified products in the correct way and meet the strict conditions. This includes the requirement that at least 4 Finest treatments must be sold per month, without any other coatings being offered. Carclean.com feels obliged to review the requirements set by suppliers in the interests of its customers.

Gyeon Quartz
In mid-August, Carclean.com made contact with Gyeon Quartz with a view to including the products in its assortment. On 21 August, Carclean.com received an email from C.Pro saying that Carclean.com had made an error by selling Gyeon.

Communication with Gyeon is proceeding very pleasantly. They are professional, know their business, give excellent dealer support, and currently have an unrivalled image. Carclean.com understands well that the competition finds this rather uncomfortable, but as a company you could also deal with this in a different way.

Carclean.com knows exactly who Gyeon are and what they do, which people are behind the company, and what knowledge and expertise are available. This gives Carclean.com a lot of confidence and we are convinced that Gyeon is an excellent match for Carclean.com and the Dutch market.

Termination of the collaboration
As of 1 September 2013, Carclean.com’s status of official C.Pro distributor was revoked without Carclean.com being informed of this fact. On 5 September, one of the C.Quartz Finest Detailers informed Carclean.com that another party had taken over the function of official distributor. Later, Carclean.com read on the C.Pro Facebook page that it was indeed no longer the official distributor for the Netherlands and that another company was taking over this function.

Carclean.com contacted both C.Pro and the new distributor. C.Pro defended its decision and emphasised that the new distributor was permitted to actively contact all the Carclean.com customers (which had purchased C.Pro products) with C.Pro’s full support.

In response, Carclean.com has decided to terminate its relationship with C.Pro with immediate effect. For Carclean.com, the situation is unacceptable and conflicts strongly with our company’s principles.

Carclean.com has done its utmost to put C.Pro on the map in the Netherlands in recent years. For example, Iron.X was the company’s best seller, and over 20,000 C.Pro products were sold over a period of 3 years.
